c1850. Tan engraved gores over plaster on metal orb, probably copper, precision time arrow fastened to meridian at North Pole. Shows equinoctial colure, ecliptic, prevailing winds, analemma and the routes of numerous explorers. Stamped and machined brass full ring meridian in turned maple full mount four-legged table stand with stretchers. With engraved colored horizon ring scale. Shows, names and dates sailing tracks of Cook, Perouse, Vancouver, Rodriguez, Anson, Butler. Alaska called Russian America. Hawaii called Sandwich Islands or Owyhee with notes on the death of Cook in 1779 and Hergest and two others in 1792. New Holland or Australasia not yet divided into provinces. In North America, Utah shows Gt. Salt Lake or Mormon City. Huge Oregon, Indian and unnamed territory from Platte River to Canada. Texas shows cession of 1850. Pre-Gadsden Purchase and southwestern border. Apparently 1850 edition of Wilson's prized globe. Slight damage at North Pole professionally mended but an overall excellent specimen. I.D.#10052.

c1869. Engraved hand colored gores over wood sphere, without time dial. Oceans in natural tan with ecliptic, analemma, many Pacific islands, detailed land masses with many placenames. Offset brass mount atop elegantly turned walnut column and base. Orb sets on to spindle without attachment screw. Continental United States has loss in Southwest, shows Minnesota, Ind Ter., Utah but no Yellowstone Park. Alaska is "U.S. Terr." A few small surface losses, surface browned. Attractive and rare globe I.D.#10050b.

UNUSUAL OVERWORKED GLOBE
 Anonymous. untitled. Child's schroolroom individual globe, used as a project globe. Entire surface overpainted in gray blue with continents skillfully work in plaster painted brown. Underlying gores are very detailed with Phillipines shows as U.S. (c1899-1900).

c1915. 12 inch plaster orb with coated very detailed steel engraved gores, Oceans in olive green with time dial at North Pole. Ocean currents and isothermal lines
emphasized but with equator, ecliptic and large analemma and undersea cables. International Date Line in red. Full ring cast iron meridian mounted in a conforming cradle raised on a bronze three leg table stand with paw feet and raised floral motifs. Cradle supports a laminated wood horizon ring with colored meridian table with months, zodiac signs, time degree scale. Mountain ranges shown with minute hachures.
Petrograd shown in Russia but not yet Czechoslovakia. Huge
Austro-Hungarian Empire. Some surface soiling, discoloring and
small blemishes, horizon ring scale chipped with some losses but
an ideal World War I period globe.

Oceans finished pea green, analemma scale in Pacific. Attractive title graphics. On bent wire stand fashioned to correct inclination. Detailed map surface, orb may have been available on other mounts. Post Versailles Treaty Europe with Polish Corridor and Czechoslovakia, German colonies gone from Africa, Russia is shown during the Kerensky Provisional Government period with St. Petersburg still called "Petrograd" rather than Leningrad, Baltic states still independent. Afghanistan is called "Balochistan", Indo China called "Annam". Mongolia and Manchuria are a part of "China" which was the Chinese Republic. Losses to equator scale with separating. Individual children's schoolroom globes such as this are fragile. I.D.#10044.

Mounted on a walnut Phyfe style full mount stand with incurvate legs and brass sabots dating from the early 1930's. An attractive home orb surface with small sailing ship details, and cartouche of shell with
Neptune and mermaid. Internally lighted, later wiring. Couple

Transfer painted 1.75" orb German 'kitsch" globe showing the
pre-1918 world, mounted later on a cast aluminum body by the
National Die Casting Co., Chicago, as a souvenir to sell at the
1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair. Base of black bakelite without
the twist feature revealing views of buildings at the fair.

Cast white metal sculpture, bronzed, on octagonal base being an earth globe with a replica of Post's airplane W.P. X-12-0 at top with the likenesses of Wiley Post and Will Rogers below. Named on banderole below. "No.234" on base. American.
c1935. Both had been killed in a plane crash that year. I.D.#10045.

Oceans finished in light blue with ecliptic, Equinoctial Colure, International Date Line, aerial flights in red, nautical routes in blue, ocean currents and analemma. Offset bracket mounted on round gray crackle-finished base. Shows China Clipper routes inaugurated Nov. 22, 1935, Lindbergh Graf Zeppelin flights, Hindenburg route May 6-9, 1936. A few major short wave stations in red. Shows Manchukuo but no nazi expansion in Europe. Surface dust soiled with small abrasions, crack repaired in China, southeast Asia region and at equator. Cast bronze half meridian accented with gilt on a turned wood dish form base. Shows Manchoukuo so spelled and in Africa, Ethiopia (Abyssinia) is now Italian East Africa. In Europe no

Airline routes and distances shown in red, International Date Line, tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, ecliptic and analemma shown in Pacific. Ethiopia is Italian East Africa, Vietnam is French Indochina. The mounting is a solid bronze artwork on a choice desk globe from the Nazi period. A couple small surface blemishes. I.D.#10047.

Kashmir dotted in red but lacks note in red found on later
issues saying: "The boundary between India and Pakistan through
the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir follows the 'line of

Tiny bronze embossed orb, 1.5" diam., within conforming half meridian raised on three-legged tripod stand. Bronzed white metal. Labeled on one side of meridian. Dur-Am Ind. Inc.. Hong Kong. 1976 (actually dated). Premium made for Durham Industries, New York. Really cute. Much toned and darkened, looks much older than it actually is. Stand easily broken, scarce survival.
