[Report On Proposed Widening Of Locks Of The Erie And Oswego
Canals.] With two folding charts of the canal and its locks.
GPO. Washington, DC. 1896, Oct. 19. Major Stanton, pursuant to his
orders, reported to Gen. Craighill, chief of Engineers, that to
widen the canal locks to accomodate modern torpedo boats and other
vessels of war of similar dimensions, would cost nothing since
even larger canal boats negociated the canal routinely with
complete success. First few leaves of tables missing. Charts fine.
