FULL MOUNT LIGHTED
GLOBE WITH GREAT WALL
10 inch Library globe. Replogle Globes. Chicago. 1934. Coated paper
gores over glass, time dial at North Pole. Electrically lighted
internally. Handsome surface with oceans finished in deep avocado
green showing currents, nautical distances with tiny steam ships,
Ecliptic, Equinoctial Colure and analemma with note of
explanation. Shows Chinese Great Wall and some topography. Fully
mounted on dark walnut table stand with four turned legs,
stretchers and horizon ring. Shows Manchutikuo and Inner and Outer
Mongolia. Ethiopia as Italian after their invasion. Slight surface
repairs. Replogle's most beautiful table globe. I.D.#08970.

glass, lighted electrically from within. Time dial at North
Pole. Oceans finished in black with continental shelves in
white. Shows Equinoctial Colure, tropics of Cancer and Capricorn
and a few nautical distances. Cast chrome full ring meridian on
a black crackle-finished metal atlas base. Atlas supplied. The
immediate postwar period with newly independent Israel and
Pakistan. Chrome nice and bright. Globe gores apparently
shrinking somewhat, as the edges are curling slightly in places.
Otherwise a very handsome, scarce globe in above average
condition. Early use of trademark "Starlight" globe.

Coated paper gores over glass, electrically lighted from within,
time dial at North Pole. Oceans finished in black with
International Date Line and nautical distances but no currents.
Cast metal chromed half meridian with degree indications on both
sides, mounted to a round chromed pressed metal base. Continental
shelves shown in white. Indo-China no longer French, Korea is
undivided and Siam is the name preferred over Thailand. Chrome on
mount bright and clean, only a few small surface scuffs. Dramatic
appearance when lighted. Replogle globes with oceans in black were
soon trade named "Starlight". I.D.#04807. SOLD.

North Pole. Oceans finished in black with nautical distances, off
shore continental shelves in white. Chrome full ring meridian on
black crackle-finished table base with slot for atlas. Korea is
still undivided but shows Inchon and Taegu. Indo-China no longer
French. Overall condition near showroom new. The atlas,
copyrighted in 1957, is a C.S. Hammond but in a special Replogle
maroon cloth binding. Slight wear where slipped into base
receptacle. Includes original delivery tag, bulb change
instructions and Replogle's 32 page booklet dated 1954, "The story
of the globe," by Mercedes Guyette. Exceptionally complete and in

delicately colored to be enhanced when lighted. Shows
International Date Line and airline distances. Fully chromed cast
metal half meridian on round chromed pressed metal base. With many
place names and ancient site locations. Very fine condition. A
handsome lighted globe from the United Arab Republic period. It is
unusual for Rand McNally to compete directly with Replogle in this

Equinoctial Colure, few airline distances. Chrome plated mounting
with cast metal half meridian with statute mile and degree scales,
raised from a conical base. Shows United Arab Republic political
union and Republic of the Congo instead of Zaire. Still locates
Leopoldville and Stanleyville. I.D.#07185.
