Mounted as a tellurian.  Oceans finished in a dark pea green with  isothermal lines, ecliptic, ocean currents and elliptical  analemma.  Fine globe mounted on end of bronze decorated gear case arm protruding from a dome cover above a heavy  iron twelve sided base.  Base decorated with seasons scale and  figures of the zodiac in colors, minor flaking and losses. RUDIMENTARY TELLURIAN

Russell-Hawkes Company. Universal Planetarium. Russell-Hawkes Company. Kansas City, Mo. c1919. 6" brass finished metal sphere represents the sun raised from a wood pedestal and round base segmented by months. At a distance, a very good 3 inch Rand, McNally earth globe which revolves as the seasons change. While the little globe is a Rand, McNally, it has in title shield "Neevel Mfg. Co. K.C. Mo." On the aluminum boom is a small compass and the title and manufacturer as of Jan 7, 1919. Entire structure mounted on an oblong black finished metal plate supported with rubber feet, to which is attached a metal support for the arm. Another attachment, which apparently is a planet that revolves around the sun is detached; the moon needs refinishing; the mechanism needs attention to function. A tellurian is an apparatus for demonstrating the earth's position and movement (diurnal rotation, annual revolution, etc.) producing day and night and the cycle of the seasons. I.D.#10292.
