Teuffels-muehl, used as an observatory in early times. Lower right
are the arms of the Princes of Anhalt held by aloft by a muse
while below putti practice the trades and agriculture of Anhalt.
Title vignette upper left, below which are the towns of
Halberstadt and Quedlinburg, in whose ancient abbey are buried the
bones of King Heinrich I, known as Heinrich the German. Margins

Covers and imprint lacking. Text in German. There were later
simplified French and English versions, the best known of the
latter was by Samuel Leigh whose editions began in 1830. Later
editions, often issued in conjunction with guide books, were

Ernst Vom Rath Allee next to the "Fuehrer-Tribune" where Hitler
gave his speeches. Ernst vom Rath was a young cultural attaché
with the Paris German embassy murdered by a Jewish refugee in
November 1938. This, and the massive state funeral that followed,
gave rise to the national anti-semitic disturbances known as
Kristall-Nacht. Bookstock laid down on gray cloth, slipcase may be
