C. ANDERSON'S COPY OF MONUMENTAL 1734 PLAN OF PARIS

BRETEZ, LOUIS. PLAN DE PARIS COMMENCE L'ANNEE 1734. THE LOUVRE. PARIS. c1955. RESTRIKE FROM ORIGINAL ENGRAVED PLATES AT LOUVRE. "... leve et desine par Louis Bretez grave par Claude Lucas et ecrit par Aubin. Dessine et engrave sous les ordres de Michel Etienne Turgot. 1739" The 1950's LIMITED RESTRIKE of the monumental Bretez-Turgot plan of Paris DEPICTING EVERY TREE AND BUILDING presented by the Louvre to city planner and mapper C. Anderson. He did an isometric plan of the City of Marseilles (that city named a street after him) and he co-authored the official guide to the Paris Metro subway system. He designed and drew the brilliant isometric map of New York City. 254 x 328 CM. (1OO x 129 IN.)  20 sheets, plus key sheet. If assembled, size would be over 8’H x 10’W. FINE. Quite scarce.
