boundaries. Until three years before, Senex had been given to
filling blank areas on maps with imaginary topography and details.
Called upon by the court in 1732 to prepare a map of the exact
boundaries between Maryland and Pennsylvania, the job had to be
done over two or three times due to use of an inaccurate Visscher
map and in jumping to conclusions using an inaccurate scale of
miles. Thereafter, only those details that were verifiable were
allowed on his maps. A map at the transition between the map as
fanciful artwork to becoming a precise, legally valid record.
Hutchinson was a journeyman engraver in the shop. Modern coloring.
