period case map that shows the roads of France a decade before
the revolution. R.V. Tooley's Dictionary of mapmakers evidently
didn't see it for it appeared twelve years after Desnos
"flourished." Extremely decorative in an older style with large
cartouche, small sailing ships (one sinking in the
Mediterranean!), sea monsters, whales, etc. Dissected and laid
down on the original linen. Lacks case, slightly waterstained.
