well-drawn map, and except for the fact that it contains certain
information gathered between the time of its making and that of
its actual printing, which was not until 1868, it is probably the
best map of its area that had been produced.- Carl I. Wheat Vol.IV.- p.187. Wheat mentions also a manuscript map made on the
expedition [1860, Raynolds, 2] of its first season that was never
published. He makes no mention of this geology version that
illustrated Hayden's report. Geologic data has been superimposed
by hand and the title somwhat expanded. Lith. by Julius Bien.
Brown and fragile, with margin loss lower right corner and
fragments gone from right margin. Restorations. Hand colored and
