COPPER ENGRAVING. Fragment of a handsomely engraved survey plat map (in two parts) laid down on to blank stock receipt forms for the Beacon Gold Mining Company. Together with ms. plat of claims and newspaper clippings relating to Col. William Emery Nickerson, its promoter. Nickerson, an M.I.T. graduate, was an inventor and engineer who established himself in northern Georgia where he operated a saw mill at Canton.
